See, this is why you set up trust funds to automatically pay the mortgages in your seven homes.

There was no mortgage, the house was paid off. Poor fellow. Hell of a story. Here are some details gathered by a non-tabloid writer:

Will, the house was paid off years ago. It was a tax foreclosure and had nothing to do with a mortgage.

Please don't link to sites that subject you to audio tracks without asking for permission first. Or at lease put a warning next to the link. Thanks.

Well, that was some web surfing. From the original article I followed the links to the article about Joyce Carol Vincent:

And halfway through that I find she knew Captain Sensible:

Wot?

Maybe those Bing ads were right...

Off-topic, but I just heard Florida Friebus, playing Mrs. Bakerman on the Bob Newhart Show, tell Howard to not be such a Gloomy Gus. I plotzed.

Yeah, @4 makes a good call, especially given that every single media site utilizes a different player and so you never know where the volume control function is gonna be. There's some other site I visit periodically that doesn't even freaking allow volume adjustments on their obnoxious advertisements and the default setting is blasted.

Sad story, btw.

@7, I have been so much happier since I got a keyboard with a volume mute button (and up/down) right on it. So much faster than waiting for the mute window to pop up.

The worst are the sites that take forever to finish loading the audio, so it doesn't even start until you've finished reading the article on the page and moved on to something else, so that when it starts playing you have no idea which of the twenty tabs you have open is blasting sound at you.
