My 14 year old's take on the halftime show: "Even though Madonna is , like, a 100,000,000,007 years old, she still looks really good. And she can sing!"

Loved seeing the Seahawks at the Halftime show!

Mixed bag of effort.
-She looked good and was surprisingly restrained in her outfit.
-She was having trouble with the high boots she was wearing and almost slipped on the stadium steps section.
- She had good energy BUT that new song in the middle stank up the place. Marching band - Gwen Stefani did that. Cheerleaders - old '80s Mickey (and Madonna even looked a little embarrassed to be shaking pompoms).
- Like a Prayer is always a good last number but I, too, was confused at blowing her up.

Was Madonna raptured at the end of the show?

Anyone who freezes herself in carbonite at the end of a show like Han Solo is going to win EVERY TIME. I mean, that's just unbeatable.

The best will be next year when she gets thawed out by Guy Ritchie in a bounty hunter outfit for the 2032 Super Bowl. But who will play Jabba the Hutt?

Elton John in platform boots of gold or silver I can't recall... Priceless.

Seriously, we've been living under the boot of the 80s for the last 3 decades. Same leaders, same basic ideas...but it seems like the art department has not been willing to do its job making the wax museum look all spiffy.

All the vocoders and Dis-Glitz and injections of youthful dancers and rap snippets couldn't hold Chairman Madonna afloat during her trip across the Yalu River.

Matthew Broderick...looking as pudgy as doughboy and with a grey glow to his bowlcut. Someone forgot to call makeup!

Watching Donald Trump trying to play Kingmaker, and no one caring. How long before the tuxedo buttons start popping, the hairpieces getting snatched away and false teeth being left in the apple?

Good bye 80s autocracy.

I think she'd be perfect for the "Marilyn: The Musical" road company.

The show was simply fantastic. The entrance alone was jaw-dropping. Exciting to see such pageantry--really makes one feel like reaching through time. The costumes were amazing. Great choreography and performance. The song choices worked well, a little old and a little new. Wonderful how she was able to incorporate new, young talent into the act. She looked so happy up there. It was fun seeing her play around with LMFAO. I loved Niki Minaj's energy and smile. Loved the sexy, cheerleaders. Cee Lo had a beautiful, strong voice. 'Loved the stage and the graphics that kept changing. The Vogue covers/dancer was great. She really rocked that stadium. The crowd was going crazy. I loved hearing them roar every so often. Go, Madonna!

Here are some great stills from the show. Enjoy!

I thought she was terrible, boring, stiff, slow. Compared to her backup dancers she seemed even more the old stiff diva. Good game though.

What's "Madonna"? Is that a new dubstep DJ?

no mention of the obvious lip-synching?

Or the weird lock of wig hair growing out of her chest (probably a costume change mishap) during the choir scenes...

The best part was the end where they threw water on Grandma Gaga and she melted, just like the ending of that trip to Oz.

Does anyone else remember when it was 1990 and we were all wondering what was up with the Kingston Trio?
Posted by robotslave on February 6, 2012 at 5:30 AM

#25 - The Kingston Trio is about a thousand times more talented than Madonna and her entire supporting cast put together. There, I said it!

I'm afraid that would have to be "was," not "is," dearie. And I still don't know anything about this "Madonna". Did they put out an album recently?

Sir Vic 29
@18 Agreed. Not a Madonna fan at all, and in fact prefer a super-duper marching band halftime, but this was impressive professionalism. It's extremely difficult to pull off that grand of a performance with such precision. Nice of her to put over some newer acts, though I guess M.I.A. didn't appreciate it enough.

Wow, somebody actually liked that boring, tedious, lifeless excuse for a halftime show??

Wow, somebody actually liked that (mostly) boring, tedious, lifeless excuse for a football game??

At least the game had a few redeeming moments. Madonna ... not so much.
