There are 6 million fewer Americans with jobs now than when the recession started.

The percentage of American adults with a job is at the lowest rate in 20 years.

When those who have quit looking are factored in the actual unemployment rate is over 15%.

But can the world's largest breast care charity erase the blemish?

It would be nice, but there will be years of pouting and pontificating to get through.

I'd be interested to see what stunts pro-Obama strategists plan and orchestrate to overcome the one Ari Fleischer and Karen Handel did to energize pro-life "values voters,"

It is clear from that article that we have no idea about previous population levels...what about China and India when zero records were kept. What about the Americas where a native population of 120 million was decimated instantly by contact with European diseases. What about the late Medieval Warming period, or Roman Empire...there could have been billions and we'd never know.

"Jobless rate falls to 8.3%: An improvement to our economy but poses serious political risks for advisers to both Obama and Romney .."

The problem with numeric data, is that when it is fudged it just doesn't correlate with anything else --- always the big telltale giveaway clue.

When this number is truly at tremendous variance with the standard ADP payroll numbers (far below the BLS numbers this month), as well as the tax collections numbers, than something is quite stinky somewhere, besides Paul Constant's usual body odor.

From the link below:

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/record-12-…

A month ago, we joked when we said that for Obama to get the unemployment rate to negative by election time, all he has to do is to crush the labor force participation rate to about 55%. Looks like the good folks at the BLS heard us: it appears that the people not in the labor force exploded by an unprecedented record 1.2 million. No, that’s not a typo: 1.2 million people dropped out of the labor force in one month! So as the labor force increased from 153.9 million to 154.4 million, the non institutional population increased by 242.3 million meaning, those not in the labor force surged from 86.7 million to 87.9 million. Which means that the civilian labor force tumbled to a fresh 30 year low of 63.7% as the BLS is seriously planning on eliminating nearly half of the available labor pool from the unemployment calculation. As for the quality of jobs, as withholding taxes roll over Year over year, it can only mean that the US is replacing high paying FIRE jobs with low paying construction and manufacturing. So much for the improvement.

@10, that is not what is clear. What is clear is that you did not, or could not, read the article.

@10 the 8.3% is the usual bullshit, compounded by December to January adjustments, but the number of new jobs is significant.

Question: If we donate to an organization (like Planned Parenthood) in honor of Karen Handel, does this mean she gets to write off our donation for her taxes?

@15, no. You paid the money, you get the deduction. You'll get a receipt, she'll get a card or some such (probably just an email).

@16, thanks. The deduction isn't going to do me much good, since I don't itemize, but I sure wouldn't want for our thousands of contributions to work on her itemized list.
