This is the best thing I've seen all day. I bet Nancy Reagan couldn't do 5 push-ups on the best day of her life:

I go to the gym 5 days a week and take boot camp, insanity and tai bow classes and they are full of women who do push-ups for two minutes straight in all kinds of configurations. Last night we had to do 2 minutes with one leg raised in the air and the women all kicked ass. The women do much better than the men.

I love her! I'm not prone to fandom, and other than her, I can't think of any public figures or celebs that I feel unqualified make me behave like a fan-boy. I just think she is so fun and graceful, and strong and just a great person.

To be fair, Ellen *was* dipping down a lot further than the First Lady. That makes each pushup that much more difficult.

@8, @9: Ellen just has shorter arms, so it seems like she's dipping lower. If you watch the angle of their elbows, however, they're pretty much the same.

Sadly, while I could easily knock off 25 pushups without breaking a sweat when I was in the military back in the 1980s, I don't think I can do it any more. And I'm about the same age as the First Lady.

@12, nope, I was watching the angle of their elbows and how closely the upper arm aligned with the chest. Ellen's was closer to 90 degrees than the first lady.

It's splitting hairs, though. They both still rock.

@11,

My high school history teacher persistently made fun of Nancy Reagan for her obsession over her hefty calves, which apparently did cause her to work out a lot, but, unfortunately for her (and the reason for my teacher's derision), is that working out only made her calves more muscular and big.

I'm not surprised!!! Wasn't she in the WNBA? POTUS was killer when he played for the Celtics. President Obama was awesome in the 94' playoffs!!!!
