Voice Mail of the Day

Posted by on Fri, Jan 27, 2012 at 10:58 AM

Left on my voicemail by Karen from San Diego:

I'm calling because I wanted to make sure that you are aware that someone hacked a site that your company is responsible for, or they may have co-opted some of your bandwidth to broadcast an anti-Santorum website. It's called Spreading Santorum. If you a responsible for this, and I would trust that nobody there would be stupid enough to do something like this, or I would have thought you would have at least hidden that you run this site. If you're not actually doing this, I suggest you look into it and ask whoever is doing this to remove it. This is sickening. It's going to lose you business, or at least I'm going to make sure it does lose you business if you don't do something about this.

Thank you for the heads-up, Karen.

I remember in 2004 when someone contacted my boss to complain that a Canadian (me) was using his website to spread anti-American propaganda (anti-Bush cartoons). He was told by my boss that he would be first against the wall when the Red Chinese would invade. (and he meant it)

It's really too bad that Rick Santorum has such stupid followers. Of course, San Diego is kind of a hotbed of dumbass conservatives who'd love to vote for a guy like Rick Santorum, so I guess it's not surprising. If Rick Santorum's followers were more capable of cognition, they'd find a way to mount their own campaign by linking Rick Santorum's name to his campaign website, instead of to Spreading Santorum. Still, you have to be pretty foolish to think that Rick Santorum is actually going to get the nomination, since Rick Santorum's views are misaligned with where the GOP is right now. I know that Rick Santorum appeals to the evangelicals, but we all know that's a much less powerful voting bloc than they think it is. I know we all wish Rick Santorum the best in his quixotic quest to turn the White House into a mottled shade of brown, but the truth is that once the election is over, Rick Santorum will fade from public view.
