You're just too good to be true, can't take my eyes off of you:

Their fight has never been about discussion or the solicitation of opinion. It is about imposing the will of their god on you. Your commentary is cluttering up their pulpit.

Seriously, MacCrocodile nailed it. Did you notice where on their page is says they're all about "God-fearing"? There's no room for discussion or feedback in fear. It confounds them.

Remember, kids: if you can't win the argument, just take away the opposition's ability to speak. That's what Jesus would do.

Awww, they banned me for outing their polling methodology and calling them out for being hypocrites. Alas.

And to think, they could've avoided this whole thing by requiring a like of their page to comment.

There was this really golden few days where 99% of the comments they were getting were from marriage-equality folks and it was pretty fun watching them scramble, but c'est la vie.

Either way, my favorite moment was when they said "GOV'T STAY OUT OF OUR BEDROOMS" as an argument for... their side? Whatever.

Also, thanks is in order to Baconcat for drawing my attention to their marriage equality Facebook circus in the first place.

They're not disabling comments, just deleting them periodically:

Geoff Valentine - Pie eating is between one man and one pie, and if you disagree with this, you should get your own facebook page. No offense : /

David Lauri - So much for the sanctity of spelling. "Marraige"?! Really?!

Tim Crowley - hint: take a spelling class.

Steve Rodriguez - How does it feel to be on the same side of history as the likes of George Wallace? Rest assured, your kids and grandkids will be embarrassed.

Joshua Gerald Balvin - yum pie!

Brett Wiseman - did someone say pie?!

Brian Enoch - I like pie!

Shel Schroeder - No offense taken. Don't take offense to me marrying my same-sex partner. Why would you, anyway?!

Richard Sutton - This is the redefinition of commenting. I think we should have a vote and let the people decide if commenting is allowed.

Colin Fournier Maloney - Marriage used to mean the transfer of ownership of a woman from her father to her husband. I'm glad we grew past that as a society, and I'll be happy when the institution is open to all adults, regardless of who they love.

Thomas Pitchford - Wow angry much? Somehow the people who claim to stand for freedom turn out to be censors? What's next, hypocrites?

@9 I am Geoff Valentine, and I've got a screen cap of that comments thread right after I posted the "1 man and 1 pie" comment, if there's a way to post pics here, I'll upload it. Anyone know how to embed pics in slog comments?

Stand for Marriage will never triumph until they have a horse show as successful as Stephen King's Cavalia. It's like Cujo On Ice.

Not only is a Facebook group not a site, but Facebook is, like most tech companies, pro-gay. And their group is helping them male advertising dollars. They should be calling for a boycott of FB, which would be great.

You guys have a lot of nerve critiquing them for a spelling error. I'd say at least one slog post a day has one or more spelling or grammatical errors.

However, if you're "Standing for Marriage," your site is all about marriage, marriage, marriage: you're an idiot, if you can't spell marriage.

And, you have at least 6 people who like your cause, who can't spell the word, either.

It's revealing that the close-minded anti-equality bigots are idiots, and determined to stay so -- but possibly not to you shaneleopard.

God hates Ken Hutcherson. I have proof:
http://pstonews.com/2012/01/24/god-hates…

I will ask God if He/She/It also hates "Stand for Marriage Washington". Given His/Her/Its response on Hutcherson, I'm pretty sure that the answer is "Yes".

He/She/It will surely Smite them with a sentence in Hell LIght.

@2: IKR. They seem to have missed the bits in the Bible where Abraham and Moses debate with God and He listens to what they have to say. There is a similar tale in Islamic tradition; Mohammed is said to, during the Night Journey, have haggled with God (through the intermediary of Moses, I believe) over the number of prayer sessions per day.

Marriage is so damn important why bother with the spelling? We're way too busy thinking about what all those nasty homosexuals are doing to each other to pay attention anymore.

Finally-- an acceptable compromise! If they allow me and my girlfriend equal access to marriage, I will be more than happy to allow "marraige" to remain between one man and one woman.

This is great news guys! It turns out this has all been just a big misunderstanding. See, we're trying to legalize gay marriage. They're trying to save the definition of marraige. Everyone can get what they want here. They can use whatever definition of marraige they want as far as I'm concerned and we can give all citizens the same marriage rights as is constitutionally and morally mandated. Everyone can be happy with the result.

But we ARE standing for marriage against bigots who define it as one man and one woman. That's what gays and allies are all for! Strengthening marriage.

We don't care that you don't like it, we're just going to jam our fingers in our ears and shout "LALALALA" until we get our way.

What a lovely stance to take.
