Rush Limbaugh Defends Gingrich: “Everybody has an angry ex-spouse!”

Posted by on Thu, Jan 19, 2012 at 1:45 PM

Mediaite says:

In response to the bombshell allegations by Newt Gingrich’s ex-wife to ABC News that the former Speaker of the House asked her for an open marriage, conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh rushed to his defense saying “Everybody has an angry ex-spouse!

This calls for a Slog poll:

there really needs to be a third option

And that third option would be "Angry, yet still married to him/her."

And who among us hasn't railed against drug use before an audience of millions while purchasing hundreds of oxycodone pills a month from your maid and a revolving team of Palm Beach doctors? I mean, THESE ARE REGULAR GUYS PEOPLE!

That was my response: "working on it".

Since Rush has three ex-spouses, he should know. I expect at least one of them is angry.

Hell, I expect his fourth spouse (from a marriage officiated by Pastor "Remarriage-is-not-adultery-like-Jesus-said-it-was-but-only-if-it's-my-crony-doing-the-remarrying" Hutch) is angry, too.

How about a whole string of mildly annoyed ex boyfriends?

Why would any of Limbaugh's ex-wives be angry? I'm sure they were paid handsomely for their service below that fat drug addict. If anything, they should just be relieved to be rid of him, and able to enjoy their lives of financial security.

Unless, of course, he was a cheapskate.

I'm afraid I'm one of those sickos who's still married to the first wife, and glad of it.

Not only is my ex-spouse not angry, I emailed her a link to the poll (since nearly 20 years after divorcing we are still good friends), and suggested she vote.

If fifty percent of first marriages don't end in divorce, then a big chunk of married couples have no ex-spouse.

At the risk of turning this thread into political commentary, here's someone without an angry ex-spouse: Barack Obama.

There are also, of course, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and (dare I say it?) Rick Santorum.

wow this is a very damning Slog poll. right now it is 58 with an angry spouse to 809 without angry spouse.

Reverse Polarity 21
Well, legally speaking, I'm not allowed to have any ex-spouses since I can't get married, so I'm off the hook.

This just shows how liberals want to destroy the American family. People with family values have angry ex-spouses to prove it.

I have two ex spouses who ARE NOT angry and a current spouse who is ANGRY...I didn't know for sure if I should vote or not. Here's hoping the divorce will calm this one down as well.

My spouse is usually angry. But he's not an ex.

Yet.

Paul, since Slog polls are legally binding, we want a new poll with more choices. I suggest:

I have an angry current spouse.
Working on it.
No, because I killed him rather than go through the hassle of a divorce. I mean seriously, do you know how long you have to be separated in some states? And you can only have the angry not getting back together sex with him if it's part of reconciliation efforts--in some states, in others if you inadvertantly have sex you have to start all over! No, I skipped all that mess. And don't dig in the back yard by the fence....

I have never mentioned this on SLOG before, but there is a Former Mrs. Dr. Adequate. She has moved on, and is now the Future Former Mrs. Somebody Else. We do not talk, so I am not confident quoting odds on how long before she becomes a Former Mrs. again.

I do suspect she is still angry at me, though. Even though becoming The Former Mrs. Dr. Awesome was her idea. She fought bitterly throughout the process. And I got to keep the house.

Or several angry ex-spouses in Gingrich's and Limbaugh's case.
