Are there fruit cups under there? The mystery continues.

Ha.

It is snowing there.

The zombie hordes are freezing in their tracks ... Snowpocolypse2012 has it's upsides but no brollies.

It lurks there in the shadows and you don't know what's behind it and there's a building chorus of violins as you draw near and reach out with a trembling hand and pull it aside and AAAHHHHHHH

I know some people are highly irritated by Green Lake Watch, especially when it's really Roosevelt Watch, but I happen to enjoy it immensely.

My. 02 cents (ACV 1/20 cent, not redeemable for cash).

@4 is correct. Poor neglected I5 onramps, once part of a thriving Roosevelt neighborhood, now a dead zone for photogs and zombie hordes.

Is this Roosevelt? I'd say it was Ravenna.

@ 4, as someone who's spent a lot of keystrokes explaining why these locales can't be described as Green Lake, I have to say that I enjoy them, too.

Why hasn't this umbrella been peppersprayed and hauled off to jail yet?

@8

It's more of a standing structure than an unlawful occupant. It's more likely to get stomped flat and tossed in a garbage truck.

@6: As this is underneath I-5 at the Park n'Ride on 65th, I feel one could make the argument that this IS Green Lake, since if you get just west of I-5, then you're on the very eastern edge of Green Lake. I'm not saying I agree 100%, but I concede there is an argument there.

Personally, as a very nearby resident, I would consider this to be Roosevelt (which I would consider my neighborhood). Despite the fact that Ravenna Blvd does run through there, I believe that Ravenna "neighborhood" is either quite far east, or a bit south, of the Park n'Ride.

This being America, we're all entitled to cling bitterly to our opinions until the day we die, cold and alone.

@13

Yes, I figured.

Isn't Green Lake Watch, and really, all of SLOG, and really, all of the Internet, devoted to the quibbling over minutiae? I was embracing the spirit.

Somewhere in the Sound, a young English lady dressed in black floats face down, her carpet bag lost to the depths.

...and somewhere in Green Lake, two children go unsupervised and uneducated.

@15, I think the point of the Internet might be to bolster everyone's feeling of self worth.
