When someone posts something to the Slog that was already posted on earlier, the two authors should have to armwrestle to determine which post lives and which one dies.

We should pay attention to how they did it since we'll probably have to do it here with Gov. McKenna.

@ 1, Dan wins by forfeit, because Goldy didn't include a link.

@3 Small communities being deeply involved, lots of statewide organization via email and Facebook, everyone focusing on a single and clearly defined goal, no getting sidelined on pet projects or who we'll vote for next, stirring up pride over our state's place in history when it comes to unions and ousting corrupt politicians, and tons of senior citizens. Seriously, the senior citizens were like our secret weapon. Lots of free time, lots of passion, and a laser-like focus on only one issue at a time.

Actually, Matt, you're wrong. Oh, Dan wins alright, but not because of the link. He wins because he's a partial owner of the company.

Thanks, Dan. Now to keep them from buying/rigging the election.

@ 7, I'm assuming real fair standards are being applied, if only for the fact that Dan's love for Goldy is likely the sole reason he's not stuck over there on HA.

Yeah, that's about the only reason I can think of why he's still around also.

@1 - Naw. Some of us only read Dan.

@3 - As someone who also occasionally blogs -- and has also worked as a professional, paid journalist -- I think citing sources is absolutely important. I think that unless a blogger is providing original research (like Nate Silver's fivethirtyeight) or general commentary, linking back to the original source for further exploration is an important part of bloggers' responsibilities to their audiences.

I was so ashamed of my home state when they didn't reelect Feingold, but now I am feeling pride again.

I live in Madison, and this whole process has been so crazy awesome to watch. From the first Capital protesters, to Ian's pizza getting delivery donations from EVERY FUCKING COUNTRY ON THE GODDAMN PLANET and sending all that delicious pizza to the protesters, to thousands of volunteers gathering (on averagge) 16,000 sigatures daily since November.

I personally went out and gathered over 50 signatures. Love you, Wisco!

Despite working on the recall effort, I'm (we're all) a little shocked. We got 46% of the TOTAL VOTES CAST in the gubernatorial election in recall signatures. I'd also like to thank everyone who usually votes GOP and is standing with us against Walker. It means a lot. I'm sorry for my previous characterizations of you as mindless FOX News zombies; apparently a significant portion of you all actually can recognize direct attacks on working-class people and are willing to join with us filthy hippies, commies, gays, and atheists to oppose them. Let's oust the crooked fucker so we can go back to the halcyon days of fighting over whether to teach comprehensive sex-ed in schools and where we'll fall on the continuum from unrestricted to restricted-to-the-point-that-it-may-as-well-be-illegal with respect to abortion access. :-)

@6: Also, a total disregard for the rule of (bad and probably itself illegal) law: people continue to gather at the capitol in open defiance of ordinances forbidding demonstrations, noise, and requiring protestors to directly pay (as opposed to paying through taxes, which they're already doing) for their own policing and arrests, and the police refuse to actually enforce the statutes. It's actually a bit surreal to watch massive numbers of people and the law enforcement infrastructure act as though the restrictions levied in the last year were never put into effect.
