Tonight, the five remaining Republican candidates will take part in a Fox News-hosted debate in South Carolina. We'll be live-Slogging it right here, starting at 6 pm Seattle time.
The Fox debates up until now have been strangely more substantive than some of the others. (ABC News debates have been roundly terrible, with CNN getting somewhat better since their disastrous first, cosponsored-with-the-Tea Party, outing.) I wonder if that's going to change this time with the party (and the network) coalescing their support behind Romney. Thats one of the big questions, but here are some others:
Which Newt Gingrich will we see tonight—the full-of-himself elder statesman or the pouty baby?
Now that the candidates have dwindled, will Rick Santorum get more than a second's worth of screentime for a change? And will Santorum take his new role as evangelical defender seriously, bringing everything back to "traditional family values?"
Will Rick Perry even bother changing out of jeans and a t-shirt this time?
Answers to these questions and more tonight at 6, here on Slog.
