Week in Review

Posted by on Fri, Jan 13, 2012 at 9:08 AM

The gay marriage holdouts, the Defense Department cutbacks, the education conversation, the state of the state, and the Suzan DelBene's announcement—all of that, and more like it, plus your calls, this morning on Weekday.

That's 94.9 FM starting at 10 a.m.

Baking news . . . . . . .

These past seven days saw spontaneous outbreaks of the legal process actually, and so very seldom, being upheld: a policeman was suspended and a police lieutenant was demoted on the Oakland (California, USA) Police force.

And across the Atlantic, the U.K.’s Metropolitan Police (once popularly known as “Scotland Yard”) began an investigation of their nation’s intelligence apparatus, MI6, in their involvement in the unethical and illegal kidnapping of an anti-Gadaffi activist in Thailand in 2004, and handing him over to Libya’s bloody dictator, Mummar Gaddafi. (This was purported to be a joint CIA-MI6 operation; perhaps the very same CIA people who had overturned the US State Department office’s denial of visas for fifteen Saudis’ entrance into the U.S.A. – the very same fifteen involved in 9/11/01 attacks.)

This is an unusual and first-time event in London for the Met Police to undertake an investigation into state intelligence without an official governmental directive to do so. There was no love lost for the Libyan dictator’s murder of British police and citizens, just pure revulsion for the chronic amorality of the British intelligence establishment.

Six days ago, the Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta asked: “Has Iran developed a nuclear weapon? No.” (We love these pols who ask and answer their own questions --- very Rumsfeldian!)

So, while the Bush crazies claimed Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction, the Obama crazies would act on a possible Iranian dream of future weapons?

The Nascar race driver apologized for publicly distaining women and motherhood in his insults against public breastfeeding of babies --- just another conservative suffering from reptile dysfunction (a common psycho-sexual affliction among them).

Haley Barber goes hog wild in his gubernatorial exit in Mississippi, pardoning an untold number of prisoners. (Politically reminiscent of the Nixonian US Supreme Court’s decision in the 1970s which threw thousands of the mentally ill upon the streets of America! Perhaps an underlying agenda on Haley Barber’s part?)

Political prediction for the South Carolina republican presidential primary: first place – Steven Colbert, second place – the Marine sniper team recently captured on Youtube expelling their waste product, third place – either Santorum or private bankster and LBO jobs destroyer, Mitt “the twitt” Romney. (Please note how we refrained from using the terms “piss” or “urine” alongside the mention of “santorum”!)

We provide the nutritious meal --- comfort food provided by Fox, CNN, NPR, ABC, CBS and PBS.

Meanwhile, IRL, Bloomberg News admits Greece is likely to be kicked out of the EEC economic union (eurozone common EU currency) by month end, unless the Rich and Corporations who continue to not pay even 50 percent of taxes they should be paying, suddenly cough it all up.

Buh bye!

It's a good thing - note that Italy has actually started to crack down on such tax avoidance and seems to be skirting around possible exile from the EU common currency itself.

But that's what really matters in world trade.
