Film Short Film Fridays

This week's short is Dayna Hanson's "Improvement Club." My three reasons for selecting it: One, it features a great tune, "Blue Ridge Mountains," by Fleet Foxes ("...over near Tennessee"). Two, it has been developed into a feature film, also called Improvement Club ("[It's] loosely based on Hanson’s real life experiences producing her Revolutionary War-based musical Gloria’s Cause"). Three, Ben Kasulke is the DP. (Kasulke recently received a Spirit Award nomination for his work on The Off Hours.) Lastly, I love the ending. The ending makes this short. The ending locates it in the heart of my Pacific Northwest
