Here's an interesting interview with burlesque performers DeeDee Luxe and Calamity Chang, who appear in a threesome with Michael Fassbender in the very good (but climactically flawed) movie Shame.
Were you guys covered at all during the scene, or were you completely naked?
DDL: We were covered. They gave everybody flesh-colored panties.
CC: Why do people always ask that? It's so weird.
...I remember there's a part with you, Calamity, where Michael just sticks his face in your butt.
CC: Was that my butt? No, it was your butt. [Nods to DeeDee]
DDL: [laughs] Oh yeah, no, it was my butt. [DeeDee and Calamity laugh]
Though Shame lands with a bit of a thud in its last few minutes, it succeeds where other sex-minded movies, especially 9 Songs, completely fails: The sex is a necessary signifier of the characterization, and absolutely central to the plot. That makes it a rarity in American film, and an entirely underrated gem of last year.
