Posted by on Wed, Jan 11, 2012 at 6:28 PM

The Attorney General tells the Olympian: "My view of marriage is based on my religious faith. And so, I have a hard time getting there."

Hot!

Aren't most guys having a "hard time" while "getting there"?

So, he's basically admitting that his opposition is based on something that's supposed to have no bearing on the governance of our state?

So he and Gregoire are in the same boat but only one will have to answer to voters a year from now and the other evolved into support.

C'mon, Rob. Your lead is largely due to a lack of motivating factors for Inslee's base. Don't throw it by walking against the current.

It's unfathomable to me that this asswipe is going to be our governor next year.

"My view of marriage is based on my religious faith."

But not his view of abortion or, I expect, contraception, or the death penalty, or the equality of women.

Translation: "I am a lying sack of shit." Or, more delicately:

"My view of marriage, like my view of all controversial social issues, is based on my perception of the number of voters that likely constitute a majority in whatever electoral contest I have entered, since I am obviously completely untethered from any convictions informed by religious faith."

very bad homo 9
You are running to be Governor of everyone, not just straight people. Leave your religious beliefs at home.

You know who else governs based on their religious faith, McKenna?

Iran.

McKenna:
"My view of marriage is based on my religious faith. And so, I have a hard time getting there."

Obama:
"Marriage connotes to so many people a religious and not just civil element, and that includes me. I do not support gay marriage."

McKenna and Obama are both wrong on this. What's your point? Last time I checked, Obama isn't running for governor.

If you read the whole quote, he (like Obama) really makes it sound like marriage equality is inevitable but just doesn't want to support it yet. That the leading Republican candidate for governor admits this is HUGE. Like Dan says--we're winning.

At least the little fey freak seems to have decided not to try to diverge from the evangelical Dark Ages Republican mantra.

F U, you little weirdo ...what you have done with your pandering to the least-educated Eastern Washington folks is to marginalize yourself. Good riddance to bad trash!

Ugh...you douchebag. Not that I expected anything different, but this one gets a nice Inslee for Governor donation from me to match.

If you invoke your religion as a reason to oppose people who love each other from enjoying the full rights of other Americans, then you worship a sick & depraved God.

I think the truth is that if he wants to run he has to kowtow to DeBolt and H.R.O.C. The party says jump, and he asks "how high?" He must think it's an easy way out to use this excuse, but I will never vote for him if this is how he's going to play his cards.
