Joseph Skillings, "Defining Honor"

Posted by on Wed, Jan 11, 2012 at 2:11 PM

Joseph Skillings was a teacher at Ballard's Adams Elementary until the night he witnessed a woman being harassed at a Capitol Hill bus stop and intervened, at which time he was beaten was badly enough he received a traumatic brain injury that left him unable to teach. Here's a video about what he's doing now. He is amazing.

Seeing stories like this about good people like him are good influence on self serving assholes like me. I just had an "Oh yeah, being nice and doing good and shit" moment. (I forgot about that stuff)!

I was an assistant in Mr. Skillings' classroom in 2007. He was a great teacher, and I am so glad to get to see this story about him. Thank you.
