Have you seen the Belgian Star Wars-themed burgers? Oh sure, I'd try the "Jedi" or "Dark" burgers, maybe. But the "Vador" [sic] burger? Uh, no thank you. Not ever. No. (Click the picture to see your choices.)

Yeah. They always look so good on the posters, but then you unwrap a soggy, smushed, lukewarm thing with runny cheese and a few shreds of browning lettuce. Oh, wait. That's Burger King. Never mind.

C'mon, Mary, let's go to Belgium and live a little. i love the notion that the name is from the original rush translation made for the subtitles of the original Star Wars, and that rather than change back they kept the names for subsequent releases. Not just Dark Vador, but Ian Solo too.

I thought we all agreed six months ago to never ever ever use "throw up in my mouth" again, whether "a little" was appended to it or not.

What's with the "Dark = obscure power" in the lower-left corners? Is that so people don't think they mean well-done?

When they dubbed Star Wars into French in 1977, they decided to change all these names so that the French name would supposedly match the shape of people's mouths better on screen. So English "Darth Vader" was rendered as "Dark Vador." Similarly, in the French version C-3PO is Z-6PO so that the lips match the name better. Similar R2-D2 is D2R2. Crazy.
The dubbing company surely regrets the headaches that most of these decisions from 1977 made with all the movies and TV shows that have come since.
