NYT:
There was one very disagreeable ingredient in the steaming hot pot of stew that may have killed a Chinese tycoon. And it was not the cat meat.

The police have detained a local township official on suspicion that he murdered the tycoon, a business associate who may have caught the official cheating, by dropping a poisonous herb into a cat-meat hot pot, a shared stew that is a local delicacy, China’s state-run news media reported Wednesday.

Long made his billions by destroying forests and developing property.

NY Daily News claims that Long was killed by his business associate...

[Long's family] discovered that Long and Huang Guang had been locked in a dispute over money — and had the official arrested for murder.

They said Huang Guang had tried to cover his tracks but eating just enough of the stew to get sick, but not enough to join Long in the grave.

Ugh, I would not want to eat cat meat. My cats eat weird enough stuff as it is, and they're inside 95% of the time.
