Bachmann's campaign is falling apart right before our eyes, folks:

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann's campaign lost another high-ranking staff member on Thursday after that staffer defended another former Bachmann official's defection to a rival campaign.

Wes Enos, Bachmann's political director, has left the campaign, spokeswoman Alice Stewart confirmed to NBC News on Thursday evening.

The resignation comes on the heels of last night's announcement by Iowa state Sen. Kent Sorenson, who had served as Bachmann's Iowa chairman, that he had stepped down from that position to support Texas Rep. Ron Paul's campaign instead..."I can't in good conscious* watch a good man like Kent Sorenson be attacked as a sell-out," Enos told NBC News on Wednesday night, insisting that Sorenson felt personal loyalty to colleagues in the state legislature backing Paul.

I wonder what Bachmann's crazy eyes are doing right now? Are they full of rage? Are they staring, lost, out a window or, perhaps, just to the left of a video camera? How does she feel about the end of her national political career? Relief? Regret? Does she really think she had a shot? This is a terrible way to go out: Betrayed by your best people in the name of a looney racist.

* Okay, I know Wes Enos's life must be tough—his name is Wes Enos, for fuck's sake—but I can't in good conscience let him off the hook for saying "I can't in good conscious." That doesn't make any goddamned sense, Wes Enos. Speak fucking English.
