I don't think we're getting a white Christmas in Seattle this year. And with beautiful weather like this, I don't think anybody much minds.

As this is due to global warming, everyone is hating this weather.

That's beautiful, Goldy, I hope Feisty had fun. It looks just like that here in Southern California today as well.

Happy Holidays to you and all of the beautiful peoples on SLOG!

I know I won't be complaining about the weather today. It was indeed very nice. And it didn't rain which I am grateful. Though tomorrow from the mouths of the weather people in the tv will be rain.

@1 - It's crazy warm all over the No. Hemisphere. Global warming because of not enough nuclear power, so countless megatons of CO2, fly ash, and nasty shit, including tons of radioactive dust are pumped into the atmosphere. Win-Win!

This is actually quite normal for PNW weather. People will complain about the summer, but in return for rainy August days, Cascadia will throw out gorgeous days like today in the depths of winter.

It was like this much of the winter I moved here ('99-'00) and a winter or two after. I wondered what all the complaining was about (those summers were fantastic, too). I figured it out in later years, but it's very nice to have a respite.

I just talked with a man who does weather-y things for his job. He described "a fire hydrant hose" of wet weather coming up from Hawaii right now, so maybe there won't be any sun tomorrow. However, this is also a forecast for Vancouver BC and not Seattle, so perhaps you will be outside the range of the hose.

It was in the 80s and low 90s in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara today.

We're staying next to the Zoo, a block from the beach.

Had a great Hispanic Chistmas Eve, with tamales made fresh, and maybe 40 family.

Just got back from a movie (Dangerous Method) and late Chinese dinner in the ID. Thought of you Goldy.

Great photo.

@14: Oh really? San Louis Obispo reached 74 today, but I grant you that is quite mild for this time of the year. Sorry Will, I couldn't resist checking.

Merry Christmas, darlings! It's expected to get to the mid 40's here in Council Bluffs, and it's clear as a bell. Has been all week.

Now if you'll excuse me, I must take Mother Vel-DuRay to Christmas Mass. I'm told this service is the one with the least amount of children and singing. I had better not have been mislead.

I went walking on the Soos Creek Trail Xmas.Eve and heard hymns playing loudly from behind the trees. Church? The forest cathedral spiritual sounds.

Same time, it creeped me, as I remember the movie Yellow Brick Road

@16 we were wearing shorts at lunch.

It's a long valley. The lines for fancy places were long.

Maybe you should realize temp readings are only taken in one location, and might be different five exits further south, where the hills reflect the heat and light. Instead of the open windy location that the airport is in.

Climate change, it has happened before and it will happen again. Time is ticking and we are approaching the end of the current interglacial period. The return of the glaciers, now that would be catastrophic. No one really knows why an interglacial periods begins or ends. Some speculate the only thing that has saved it off has been the byproducts of industrialization.
Hell if I know why.
