DAMN IT

I just ate lunch, and now Eater Seattle says Little Uncle is open in its new take-out space on 15th and Madison, serving until 2 p.m.

I'm going to go out on a limb here—a limb that Dominic Holden will surely saw off—and say that Little Uncle is just as good as or even better than Thai Curry Simple, which only serves curry, no noodles, at its Capitol Hill walk-up window, which means that on the Hill, Little Uncle wins.

Zero veg options, everything has processed white rice, they only serve soda, and just twice the price of Thai Curry Simple. Sounds like BJC's dream.

CHS reported on this yesterday. Read your neighborhood's blog.

Meanwhile, in Fremont, we have a new Fire Pit BBQ place.

And more.

Little Uncle is amazing. I ate at their Columbia City Farmers Market stand basically every week from May-October this year, and only had one dish that I didn't love. All sorts of interesting house-made condiments, spice blends and types of rice; great pad thai and fish cakes. If they're doing their griddled rice cakes (which I believe are vegetarian, #1), I might just sit on the sidewalk all day tomorrow and eat 'til they're sold out.

Thai Curry Simple is good, but what I've eaten at their ID location is no comparison to Little Uncle.
