Ron Paul-Loving Teabagger Turns Out to Be Huge Racist

Posted by on Mon, Dec 19, 2011 at 2:58 PM

Crooks and Liars brought this terribleness to my attention:

California libertarian and Tea Party darling Jules Manson is caught calling for the assassination of President Barack Obama and his children. On Sunday, many Facebook users were greeted by the shocking spectacle of a California libertarian and Ron Paul supporter by the name of Jules Manson advocating for the assassination of President Barack Obama. Manson, a failed politician, recently ran for and lost a seat on the City of Carson’s City Council last March. The following is the text of Manson’s racist, treasonous, deplorable post:

Assassinate the [expletive deleted by examiner editors] f——- n——r and his monkey children”

Among the grievances, leading to his decision to run for political office, that he lists on his page (linked from C&L):
Since 2007, my mobile-home park owner has taxed all homeowners $50/month for capital improvements.

Presumably it's Obama's fault that you don't know what "tax" means?

Pretty sure that calling for the assassination of the president is illegal.

@3 an appeals court in California recently disagreed.

"Pretty sure that calling for the assassination of the president is illegal."

Yep, and calling for the murder of anyone's minor children puts you firmly into the "evil" category.

And the transparent, establishment propaganda is ratcheted up a notch now that Paul has beaten the odds and is a real frontrunner.

"Monkey children?" Ugh. How profoundly debased must a person be to describe those darling girls that way?

I hope the Secret Service takes more than a passing interest.

@6 good one. it doesn't behoove Slog to ride that transparent propaganda train. Remember the Obama supporting Black Panther bullies at the Philly voting booths? No? Good. We're supposed to forget.

Don't think this has much to do with Ron Paul but everything to do with the Tea Party. Seriously - if you were a racist nut job, wanting political cover to attack Obama - who would you align with?

How many times did people call for the assassination of Bush, and how often was he called a monkey?

Oh back then you called it heroism or humor rather than treason. I would think that constant, being well read, would be able to see that the knife cuts both ways.

Just for the record, before I start getting called nasty names like "christian," "Republican" or "racist", I hate both presidents, but not as much as I hate congress.

Also anyone who says that they are not racist is either an idiot, or a liar.

Ummm... Even a basic search of Google shows that this guy hasn't been referenced anywhere as anything more than a solo crackpot.

It the Slog/Stranger so hard-pressed to find real news, (or a shred of objectivity) that it is relegated to propping-up freak-show loonies as emblematic of a broad, middle class support for Libertarian ideals?

For those that thought opposing character portrayal was only a tool of the Fascists: Thanks Slog, For all that you
do in lowering the collective stock of intelligence on the Left.

Despite the fact that this 'supporter' is probably of little to no account, (some right wing Californian is a crazy racist? Mon dieu!) the press, including the interweb press, should really hold these stories until the republicans actually nominate and are stuck with these crazy people.

I'm no Ron Paul fan, but associating this guy with Paul seems like an unfair stretch.

@11: Since Mr Obama took office, the rate of threats against the president has increased 400 per cent from the 3,000 a year or so under President George W. Bush, according to Ronald Kessler, author of In the President's Secret Service.

All of you "I'm not racist but I support/downplay any racist shit" make me so weary... Keep climbing, your hairy ass is showing more and more. This is horrific, in a country that has known assassination and racist terrorism. That you would not get that, and the clear and present danger of multitudes of violent suggestible fools with guns- says more than you ever could. Shame on you, Junior Klansmen in hipster drag.
