Hey Look

Posted by on Mon, Dec 12, 2011 at 5:50 PM

The Seahawks are on Monday Night Football, and just did something good. Blocked a punt for a TD. Woo-hoo.

UPDATE: Seahawks do more good things. 20-6 at the end of third quarter. Time for more beer.

UPDATE 2: Taunting is bad. Penalties for taunting are worse. Not that the Seahawks are gonna lose this game, but still.

Update 3: Random guy at Bruno's sez: "Now if the Rams had Tebow, we'd have a game." And the fucker's a Bears fan too.

MNF announcers are even talking about Tebow, saying the League ought to start his games 15 minutes later so everyone can just tune in for Tebow Time. Kill me now.

The party in SoDo is just getting started, I'm sure, with this latest score. See you all at Soldier Field next week. And, yes, I'll be there in person.

What team managed to fumble in OT and lose to Jesus-boy on Sunday, was that the Bears?

My fantasy football season ended yesterday so blech.

How did it feel to get Tebowed yesterday? Will you ever forgive Marion Barber?

You have to hit your 1 and the shift key at the same time to make exclamation marks.

Cannot discuss how bad the Bears are. The pain. Just kind of enjoying watching the 'Hawks, recalling fond memories of taking the nephew to a few games there. I'm this close to rooting for the Packers to go undefeated just to shut the fucking Dolphins up.

I find the Mile-High Messiah to be an interesting story this season. I predict that John Elway, like Judas, will betray Tebow and pick up another QB for next year.

But staying on topic, how about our own savior, Doug Baldwin?!? What a find.

You're right Chicago Fan. It's about time somebody shut up Mercury Morris.

Agree as well. Sick of hearing about the '72 Dolphins.

I thought the Seahawks were the butt of a Chicago fan's joke, and I'd have to agree that they are not MNF worthy - but after yesterday - that's a whole new level of humility for Bears fans.

@6: Come off it. They'd be 10 and 3 if they still had Cutler and Forte.

Hey Chicago, speaking of Soldier Field - do you mean the formerly-classic-though-horrible-to sit-through-the-chill-winds-off-the-lake stadium, or the new one where they glued an ungainly spaceship onto the skeleton?

@ 11, nah, they still would have been Tebowed - more specifically, playing at his old haunt would have made Cutler throw 4 INTs, making him the goat instead of Barber.

@14: Is this kid serious? Now you're just making shit up. Cutler's not Rex Grossman; his game doesn't go to shit when he gets nervous.

@ 15, you're forgetting what team he played with before Chicago. I know his history, I know his current game, AND I know that unexplained things (like Barber's first brain fart) happen when other teams play against Tebow.

I'm telling ya. Four INTs, with two of them for TD's. The score would have been a lot more lopsided (and no OT, natch).

@16: Now you're just fucking with me. I think that Bears fans know Cutler's current game a bit better than Broncos fans.

Broncos fans who've kept up with Jay since he left town know his game. More importantly, we know his softness. AND... we know how guys like that get treated when they come back to Mile High. He would have folded like lawn furniture.

@18: Softness? This is a guy who was getting sacked 5 times a game back when the O-line sucked, and was still performing at the same level. And I'm sorry, but Mile High is not The Black Hole; you're not a terribly intimidating crowd.
Y'all just butthurt because we got the better end of the Cutler deal and your current QB makes a better running back than passer.

@ 19, LOL. False across the board. (Except that Cutler was better than Orton, big baby that he is.)

Cutler being the big baby. Just to be clear.

@13 Yeah, the post-modern monstrosity by the Lake. One of the ugliest buildings ever built. That said, Chicagoans have an odd habit of hating new buildings or public art and then adopting them as iconic. The Hancock, the Sears Tower, the Picasso, Marina City: all were despised, now all are on every damn postcard and key chain and fridge magnet that doesn't have the Bean on it. My over-under is 2010 before people love Soldier Field.

@20: I know you're just trolling now, but I'm calling you out for my team. What suggests that Jay Cutler is a big baby or is untalented? Evidence?

Matt from Denver 24
I'll revise my remarks slightly; he's a prima donna, if not a baby. Now...

Remember how his season ended last year?

Hell, remember why Denver traded him in the first place?
