Win Two Nights in Vancouver in the Slog vs. Gawker Holiday Charity Challenge!

sloggawker1.jpg

As we know, Slog is kicking Gawker's ass in raising money for charity. As of today, we've raised $9,185 more than Gawker, all of it going to help the hungry at Northwest Harvest.

And guess what? Canada thinks Slog readers are WAY more generous, smarter, and better-looking than Gawker’s—Canada says it hasn't even looked at Gawker since it-can't-remember-when—and Canada wants to help, too!

As part of a Very Vancouver Xmas, Canada has offered Slog a two-night stay at the downtown Hyatt in Vancouver, B.C. (any night in December 2011, subject to availability), as well as two free passes to the Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden—a veritable winter wonderland including Santa’s Living Room, hella elves, a dancing show, gingerbread houses, choirs, a candy-cane express train (TOOT TOOT!), thousands of glowing lights, and more.

The winner will be chosen at random from those who contribute (any amount!) to the Slog vs. Gawker Holiday Charity Challenge in the next 24 hours! Just forward your receipt to ih8gawker@thestranger.com, and voila (as they say in Montreal!), you will be entered to win.

Dust off your passport and give!!!

Nothing for us already awesome people, huh? I was thinking that we could raise even more by allowing people who donate the option to have the awesome tag, or remove WIS's awesome tag. The battle between Fnarf and him would bring in another 1000 at least.

Why only for the next 24 hours? What about those of us who gave early without a chance to win prizes?

@2 and 3: Give again, even a small amount, and you can enter to win! All's fair in war and CHARITY!

Alright, I made another donation, but not because I am an awesome person. I want that trip so I have another shot at sex with the most beautiful girl in the world, like HUMP! brought about.

You just need an enhanced driver's id, @5.

I can arrange some university tours of UBC, SFU, and Capilano if you want.

Yep, you all got another donation out of me for this...although I'm kinda regretting that I made a big one initially, as I figure there are going to be more of these limited drawings.

NW Harvest has always been a dependable, much needed resource for my clients and many low income members of our community. This year however, with the overnight elimination of Disability Lifeline, huge cuts to GAU/GAX, terrible employment opportunities etc- it's been the difference between going hungry or paying rent and ending up back on the streets. Thank you all for giving what you can, every little bit helps.
