So, how long do you think it would take to render a fully animated CGI version of this beastie on my new Cyber Monday newegg 6 core 16GB 2TB rig?

"Federal paleontologists"

I had heard about this from state-level and even county paleontologists, but until you hear it from the feds, the news just isn't reliable.

@2 true.

Those rogue state paleontologists sometimes even sell fossils and steal them from native reservations without proper authorization, as we all know.

This is an example of a trace fossil, or ichnofossil. While it is often difficult to match a trace fossil with the corresponding body fossil, trace fossils have the advantage of always being found where they originated. (A carcass can be washed downstream; footprints always give accurate data as to the in-life location of the animal.)
