ROTTERDAM, Netherlands — Dutch police say Seattle Mariners outfielder Greg Halman has been stabbed to death and his brother has been arrested as a suspect.

Rotterdam Police spokeswoman Patricia Wessels says police were called to a home in the Dutch port city early Monday morning and found Halman bleeding from a stab wound.

The officers attempted unsuccessfully to resuscitate the 24-year-old.

That's why the Mariners are trending on Twitter. Violent death is the reason.

Good Morning Charles,
I just read that. It's shocking and tragic. Greg Halman RIP.
It reminds me of a similar (brother kills brother) tragedy about 8 years (?) ago involving pro athletes. Former NBA player Brian Williams who changed his name to Bison Dele was murdered along with his girfriend and another by his brother at sea off Tahiti. Their bodies were never recovered. His brother eventually committed suicide.
Ghastly.
