Getting to the Bottom of Poop- and Pee-Gate

Posted by on Mon, Nov 21, 2011 at 5:10 PM

Slog tipper Jacqui sent along an Occupy-related video from her home town of Eureka, California. Jacqui says: "This is pretty unbelievable - journalism at an all time low, so of course I thought I would share:"

TV news never helps. TV news only hurts. Maybe back in the pre-internet days of yore, TV news was essential for bringing news as it happens into American households, but now it's just a race to the bottom in a bottomless pit. If you're a TV reporter, you're part of the problem.

Hey, it's not like the TV news gatherers are being literally arrested for 4.5 hours while nationwide MSM blockades are imposed by the 1 percenters, as proof that Egyptians have more civil rights than America, the Syria of the First World ...

Oh, wait, it is.

At times up to 20 percent of all news reporters from MSM reporting have been held without bail or subject to judicial oversight as the /C/h/i/n/e/s/e American Party Elites have brutally suppressed civil rights of the peasants that dare challenge their Rights of Peerage by our Lords and Masters over we serfs.

If you are willfully-naive, reality-ignoring white-guilt libtard "progressive advocacy journalist" propagandist like Paul Constant, then you are part of the problem.

Why is slog totally ignoring the racist anti-gay attack that almost killed Danny Vega recently?

It just doesnt fit your "progressive advocacy" agenda to report on all the pack attacks committed by blacks lately.

I hope you are next to get it then.

"TV news never helps. TV news only hurts."

Yeah, I agree, but not just. TV/radio/newspapers all are designed to entertain, not inform.

I couldn't even watch the whole clip.

I grew up in Eureka (I'm going back there for Thanksgiving this week actually) and local TV news there is a joke. Journalists (or announcers) who work for the TV stations treat their job as a stepping stone. Anyone who's halfway decent at it only lasts a few months because they jump at the first opportunity to get a job somewhere else, because there's nothing going on there and it's in the middle of nowhere.

Most field reporters don't have any choice in terms of the stories their assigned (believe me, if they DID they wouldn't be doing crap - pun intended - like this).

If you have to blame anyone, put it on the News Desk or Assignment Managers who dole out these horrible stories in the first place, on behalf of the News Directors.

Given their angry denial, it sounds like the protesters are pooping and peeing on bank ATMs.

Of course you side with the dipshit reporters, Kinison.

Not saying she wasn't a dipshit, just saying that based on their angry denial, they probably are guilty as sin.

Is it just me or does the "reporter" walking the camera man with the mic cord make the whole thing look like an BDSM scene with a dom and sub on a leash? And then when she says, "you guys want us to do news on you, we're doing news..." it sounds like Deena from the Jersey Shore talking about "doing sex". Since when can any Sarah Palin-type just walk up and get a local news gig? Only in America!!

This astonishingly unintelligent reporter demonstrates what happens when all the terribly educated dip shits of the younger generation enter the workforce. This is the future of American TV media.

@10: "Not saying she wasn't a dipshit, just saying that based on their angry denial, they probably are guilty as sin."

Not being taken seriously and dealing with a nonstop stream of idiot journos would make me pretty incensed.
