Herman Cain Doesn't Want to Be Recorded

Posted by on Thu, Nov 17, 2011 at 12:37 PM

Looks like Herman Cain took my advice, kinda. Huffington Post says:

If Herman Cain stumbles on a foreign policy question during Thursday’s scheduled meeting with New Hampshire's influential Union Leader newspaper — as he did earlier this week when asked about President Obama's handling of Libya — don't expect to see the clip on an endless cable news loop.

That's because Cain's campaign has requested that the sit-down not be videotaped.

Shortly after the Huffington Post ran the story, the Cain campaign cancelled the interview altogether. It'll be interesting watching Cain's attempts to become a media sensation while desperately avoiding (or just roughhousing) the media.

Also in Herman Cain news, a post from Talking Points Memo, by Josh Marshall, in its entirety (it's short):
THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED
Cain: "We need a leader, not a reader."
(ed.note: When I saw this I thought it was a joke someone made up. But it's not. It's really not.)

Cain is following Palin's lead in realizing (a bit later than Palin did) that the only way he will get favorable press is to proscribe in advance both who can question him and what those questions can be. In the future, you can expect to see a lot of Cain on FOX news--and almost nowhere else.

Is Cain too stupid even for a job on cable television? Is that even possible?

Most of the time, Palin can at least throw out enough gobbledygook to *sound* like she knows what she's talking about (you can only really tell it's nonsense garbage when what she says is transcribed), but Cain can't even manage that.
