King County just dropped another batch of ballots, and there's little change in the established trends. Sharon Peaslee is now leading incumbent Peter Maier by 742 votes in Seattle School Board District No. 1, 71,373 to 70631. That's now a 0.52 percent lead, outside the recount margin, and growing.
As I said yesterday, Peaslee wins.
In the race for Bellevue City Council Position No. 1, Kemper Freeman flunky Aaron Laing has shaved progressive activist John Stokes lead to a nail-biting 64 votes, 14,490 to 14,426. But with only about a thousand ballots left to count, and Laing only gaining an advantage of 15 votes over the previous 1,520, the trends strongly suggest that Laing's comeback will fall too little, too late. That said, this election is almost definitely headed into an automatic recount, and quite likely a hand recount at that.
