With late ballots trending heavily in her favor, challenger Sharon Peaslee pulled ahead of incumbent Peter Maier by 91 votes today in the race for Seattle School District #1, finally closing a four point election night gap. Peaslee now leads 67,385 to 67,294, a tiny .07 percent margin, but with Peaslee winning almost 56 percent of this latest ballot drop, and with ballots generally counted chronologically, it's hard to imagine this trend substantially reversing in Maier's favor.

I know the current margin is excruciatingly small, but there's every reason to expect it to expand. So if you put a gun to my head, I'd have to say that Peaslee wins. All in all, replacing two out of four incumbents isn't bad.
