Justice Gerry Alexander
  • Justice Gerry Alexander
Justice Gerry L. Alexander has hit the mandatory retirement age of 75 after serving on the state supreme court for 16 years. So tomorrow, Governor Chris Gregoire will appoint his replacement.

Morals of this story: 1) It matters who's governor. 2) If you want to stay in elected office past the age of 75, try the Seattle City Council.

Meanwhile: Any guesses as to who it will be? (Don't say Richard Sanders. That guy is actually still on the court a year after his defeat at the polls, finishing out his extended pro-tem term.)
