"Berlusconi has resigned. God Exists!"

My friend Andrea Vogt took this image a moment ago...

Italians in Bologna, where Vogt lives, are cautiously celebrating the fall of Silvio Berlusconi. Scandal could not bring him down. Politics could not bring him down. Only economics could do this impressive trick. And the Eurozone is about one thing: economics. Writes Vogt:
Observing the Italian reaction of Silvio's resignation after 17 years in power one of the first things I heard from a jubilant young man celebrating in Bologna's Piazza Maggiore was "Berlusconi has resigned. Dio Esiste! (God Exists!)

In Bologna, the heart of Italy's left, the scene was celebratory, but cautiously so. Berlusconi, after all, was "the devil we know."

For more information, check out Vogt's tweets.

I can't believe how long he managed to stay in power. I just don't get it, how can people hold power if the public hates their leaders. An extreme example would be Syria. Buh-bye Berlusconi go fuck yourself.

Don't worry, Italy. You'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with the devil you don't.

Yep...not sure what the celebrations are for.

Pretty much Euros are going to start having to do real work and produce product for once in their lazy lives.

His technocratic successor isn't going to be doing any favors for the people of Italy.

If God exists, He's a real shit for letting that parmigiano-smelling dickhead take office in the first place.
