While we recover from the hangover of our Harrium Martin-Morris endorsement (SORRY, YOU GUYS), Save Seattle Schools blogger Melissa Westbrook has launched an online petition urging school board members to vote down Martin-Morris's attempt to censor student publications for a variety of bullshit reasons.

Here's her petition:

We, the undersigned, respectfully require that the Seattle School Board vote no on the proposed revision of Board policy around Seattle high school student newspapers.

The proposed revision would severely curtail the ability of student journalists to report on, and about, issues that concern their high school lives, opinions and outlooks.

We support guidance from both the teacher adviser and the school's principal but believe that, like under the old policy, students should have the final say and take full responsibility for their writing.

Please go sign it. We may be too late to give challenger Michelle Buetow the endorsement she deserved but it's not too late to send a message to Martin-Morris about his stupid, stupid rule change.
