Next Wednesday and Thursday at Key Arena, Cirque du Soleil will present Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour. Here's what the press kit says about it:

A riveting fusion of visuals, dance, music and fantasy that immerses audiences in Michael’s creative world and literally turns his signature moves upside down, Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour unfolds Michael Jackson’s artistry before the eyes of the audience...THE IMMORTAL World Tour takes place in a fantastical realm where we discover Michael’s inspirational Giving Tree—the wellspring of his creativity. The secrets of Michael’s inner world are unlocked—his love of music and dance, fairy tale and magic, and the fragile beauty of nature.

And here's what I wrote about it in Stranger Suggests:

While a California jury considers criminal charges against the doctor who allegedly manslaughtered Michael Jackson with drugs, Cirque du Soleil gets all bendy and creative with the man’s unimpeachable songbook. Hopeful signs: Cirque’s history of visual ravishment, a live band, and those songs. Totally iffy: Applying Cirque’s childlike whimsy to an artist with a trail of child molestation allegations and undisclosed settlements behind him. Either way, it will be something to see.

Truly, I do not envy the PR team on this one: It's not like Cirque du Soleil had to sell their Beatles "Love" show in the immediate aftermath of John Lennon declaring the Beatles to be bigger than Jesus. But here they are, promising to "unlock the inner secrets" of an alleged pedophile with a fatal drug problem via the circus arts, and I cannot wait to see the results. (Look at these promo shots!)
