Currently Hanging: A Procession of the 99 Percent by No Touching Ground

Posted by on Thu, Nov 3, 2011 at 8:05 AM

No Touching Ground sees himself as a public artist, but he does not wait for a commission in order to create.

This latest work of his, pictured in photos by Brecken Diller, is wheatpasted on the columns underneath the monorail on Fifth. As drivers pass, they see one after the other. Artist Garth Brewe shared via email the visual connection between this piece and Michael Fajans's permanent Federal Courthouse mural (made in 2004), Three Sets of Twelve.

Do these run the whole length of 5th Ave, or is it for a block or two?

That's fantastic! It needs to be added to 4Culture's public art map stat.

Westlake, son! 8
I was wondering the same thing about the feet, @2. Looks like a photoshop, weird. I'd have thought the feet would look different where they hit the pavement.

Her foot is not popped out or stuck to the pavement, the bottom of that post just looks like the ground. Look at the wheels in the last photo.

glad i got these pics in yesterday. noticed on my commute today that they have already been removed, with the exception of the first. there were 4 consecutive decals running along the monorail columns on 5th ave. This post contains four of them, my facebook profile includes the fourth
