"Before Kim and Kris, There Was Ethel and Ernest"

Posted by on Tue, Nov 1, 2011 at 3:43 PM

The New York Times gives me a reason to mention the soulless trash heap that is Kim Kardashian, by showcasing the even briefer marriage of two actual stars, who, among other things, must have had the loudest sex imaginable.

I forget where I heard it, but supposedly the problems began when Ernest "dutch ovened" Ethel on their honeymoon.

For a lesson on the true sanctity of marriage, try this Ethel & Ernest...

Westlake, son! 4

Merman co-wrote two memoirs, Who Could Ask for Anything More? (1955) and Merman (1978). In a radio interview, Merman commented on her many marriages, saying that "We all make mistakes, that's why they put rubbers on pencils." In the latter book, the chapter entitled "My Marriage to Ernest Borgnine" consists of one blank page.

Coincidental that after she divorced Robert SIX, she wed Ernest BorgNINE? I think not. Then maybe a same-sex affairette with Helen TWELVEtrees?
