We'd heard scratching sounds upstairs at my house and thought maybe rats or squirrels were using the branches of a holly tree that touches the roof to get into the attic. So we called a guy who came out and lopped off a few branches. Problem solved, we thought. But late last night, a possum had emerged from the attic (he'd apparently dug small hole into the house) and the little nocturnal fella was stranded on the roof because, well, there's no tree for him to climb down anymore. Whoops! We're building the little guy a bridge out of two-by-fours so he can leave tonight.

Pro-tip: If you have a possum, wait for it to leave the house before cutting down the tree.
