Here's a quick round-up of what we know about the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion. Below is the trailer. Can I ask, am I the only person who thinks Asian-flavored pandas are unpleasantly precious and more than a little racist?! Yes, bring your wrath down upon me, Lore Nerds! I know all about Pandaria, and I don't care! The pandas are as bad as Ewoks! No, they're not Jar Jar bad... EXCEPT MAYBE THEY ARE!!!! FREAKIN' KUNG-FU PANDAS!
*OK, this isn't really a BlizzCon post, it's a WoW post. But feel free to discuss other BlizzCon stuff in the comments.

You do realize that WoW is about making money, right? Thus they will do what they can to get more fans, as they should do because without fans games die. A lot of the newer generation like pandas, it's a fad, and like the mohawks, they are marketing it. It's not anymore lame than wizard robes or barbarian shields ....

Pandas in RPGs predate MMORPGs by quite a long time, especially panda monks.

Those are some pretty environments, though. I hope they don't allow flying mounts there, at least at first, so people will be forced to use all those nice bridges.

@2 So true. I think I even remember an old AD&D 1st ed book with such as well? I need to really finish my collection of those out of print D&D books.

I was thinking we were finally going to hear something about the new MMO project from Blizz. While it's understandable that they will continue to make expansions, this probably won't bring me back to WoW.

All I want to know is when does Diablo III drop, how much will it cost, and will they continue free online playing?

If the Pandarens are Horde, then they're cool. If they're Ally, then they suck. That's all I know.

for what it's worth, the pandaren have existed as a warcraft in-joke for a long time. they exist as the always-rumored new race in expansions that never actually happened (until now!). they predate kung-fu panda, certainly.

gonna buy it , and so is 11 million other players . get over it . besides the pokemon mode sounds like fun . or at least good for a few lol 's

Are they trying to bring in more little girls or something into the game? Because they're alienating all their male (and many female) adult fans. This is embarrassing. I miss Vanilla days. You had badass races and zones. Blood Elves are awesome. Do they do anything to make their cool races cooler? No.. it's teddy bears. It's the Blizzard Ewok. Maybe it's time for GW2. I've been playing wow since 2005 and it's just jumping the shark more and more. But no other game has the gameplay, mechanics or classes that are as fun.

World of Warcraft is no longer the most played online game and is horribly outdated. Come play a better game - RIFT. Mary, I invite you to the Byriel shard to play RIFT. You'll see how much better it is than WoW.

The Tauren started as joke race too in the Blizzardverse. And they've already done native american cows, why not Asian pandas?
The zones look pretty, the premise is somewhat interesting (back to alliance vs horde with the pandaren in the middle) and it seems like they learned from the mistakes of cata - no flying in the new world being one of them.
Not sure how I feel about the talent revamp, pokemon mini pets will be the first thing cut or trimmed down.
Completely meh about pandarens and the monk class.
And lol@15. Rift? Really? Did you say the same thing about Warhammer too?

It sure looks stupid, but I'm willing to give it a chance. I mainly care about dungeons and raiding, and I always like good scenery.
