When the guy who invented the bong came up with idea, do you think a black light popped up over his head?

but wait. don't blame the growers, it's not their fault that they are forced to set up an industrial sized operation in their little home, endanger the safety of others, break their power meter and set up a power diversion! It's the government's fault for outlawing pot. Blame the government.

No disagreement here, onion, but for now the law is the law. And if you're gonna grow sweet, delicious pot, the best advice is try not to start a fire, because then the government has to harsh the mellow.

Yeah, well, the feds just rolled through Denver and busted a whole shitload of legal (under state law) medical marijuana growers. Go Obama! Yay!

sorry for snark. i totally think pot should be legal. and that our government is being a huge douche about it. and that it is causing a huge tragedy south of our border.
but i don't think that this is an excuse to endanger others or to damage public lands. i'm torn on what to think when i hear about this stuff.

Obviously we need a well-regulated and inspected business model that watches over addictive substances.

But enough about tobacco.

Same should apply to pot.

No, Will in Seattle, we need to let adults make choices for themselves. When you show me an example of ANYONE who is/was ADDICTED to marijuana, I'll eat a whole plant. The only "addiction" is the addiction I feel to feeling calm (I have PTSD). I also suffer with chronic, debilitating pain (which is the reason it's prescribed for me). I am happy to say that I am not a slave to narcotics and I'm NOT contributing to the 1% legal drug cartels (pharmaceutical companies), because I use a pain medication designed to perfection by our creator. I am very pleased to be able to use a pain medication I can grow myself (organically), without having to worry ("side effects include oily poop, liver failure, sudden-involuntary movements which may become permanent or sudden death). I am in complete control of my pain/anxiety medication. I know when I need it and when I don't. I'm proud to be ADDICTION FREE.

Everything we do has risks and benefits, every vice, every action, even actions to survive. As adults we should be able to choose for ourselves which risks are worth which benefits. Stop the anti-tobacco shit, make pot legal ... if we want to choose to take those risks, let us. Sky diving is legal, after all.
