"The Governor Will Dress as Elmo"

Posted by on Wed, Oct 19, 2011 at 3:36 PM

This just arrived:

Gov. Chris Gregoire and First Mike have invited young children and their parents to stop by the Executive Mansion on Halloween from 6 to 8 p.m. to trick or treat. The governor will dress as Elmo, while First Mike will dress as Super Grover, that character’s superhero alter ego.

Forgive me if I don't tickle Elmo.

Ha, at first I glance I read 'emo' & imagined her looking like Phil Spector handing out treats at the Gov's mansion.

The difference between Gregoire and Elmo:

One is an annoying puppet with a grating speaking voice. The other is on Sesame Street.

Ummm.. Am I really the only person to notice that Super Grover is *not* Elmo's alter-ego, but Grover's? Gods, I feel old...

And I was sure she'd dress up as a 1%er and outsource the kids' parents jobs to pay more ever growing corporate tax giveaways, and then take their candy.

Well, notice how neither of them dressed as Prairie Dawn. Why? Prairie Dawn was never a star of Sesame Street...never.

@7, I'm with you. I was wondering the same thing. It's been a while since I've seen Sesame Street and I have no idea if Elmo has a super alter ego but I know that Grover becomes Super Grover. Know how I know that? BECAUSE HIS FUCKING NAME IS GROVER AND SUPER GROVER'S NAME IS SUPER GROVER. Did that crap seriously get printed in a newspaper? WTF?
