Anemic Salmon

Posted by on Tue, Oct 18, 2011 at 6:00 AM

Thanks, fish farms.
Previously noticed in Chile and Scotland, and now appearing in the Pacific Northwest.

Fish farms are being blamed, as well as a disease associated with them—a disease that "no country has ever gotten rid of it once it arrives."

This is frightening. And the number of species potentially damaged by diseased salmon is devastating. And this comes right when the world's human population reaches 7 billion. It seems we are peering in the window of our own demise.

Farmed salmon should have been banned years ago. It should never have been allowed here. And the people who brought it here should be shamed and impoverished and driven from the state forever.

Sad. Salmon ranching is better than salmon fishing. Not that I consume either.
