Remember: October 27th is the next edition of Verse Chapter Verse, The Stranger's reading-and-music series. It'll be at Chop Suey, and doors open at 6:30 pm. Our author this time is the dreamy Colson Whitehead, who will be reading from his new zombies-in-New-York-City novel, Zone One. Our band is The Curious Mystery. I'll ask Whitehead some questions, you'll ask him some questions, Third Place Books will be selling all of his books, he'll autograph whatever you want, and The Curious Mystery will dazzle you with their atmospheric ass-kickery at the beginning and end of the evening. If you haven't been out to a Verse Chapters Verse yet, let me assure you that they're a hell of a lot of fun; the authors are relaxed, the bands enjoy the split-performance setup, and the booze keeps things running nice and smooth.
