So, here's a question for Seattle's many progressive organizations—you know, labor unions, social justice, environmental, and other activist groups—um... where the fuck are you? Are you not sending bodies and resources down to the Occupy Seattle encampment because you don't share their grievances? Or are you not joining in simply because it wasn't your idea?

Don't get me wrong: I appreciate all the well thought out, well organized actions you guys put together. Unlike most journalists, I even occasionally show up at them. But you have to take advantage of the opportunities that come your way, and as inchoate as the Occupy movement appears at the moment, it represents a huge opportunity to advance a progressive message and agenda.

Labor and other activist groups are lending their support in other cities. So... um... why not here?
