King County Executive Dow Constantine just gushed into the inbox of every local reporter:

"Today’s acquittal is a dramatic vindication for Amanda and her family and friends here in West Seattle. I cannot be more pleased at this emotional outcome in the Italian court," wrote the most powerful man in unincorporated King County. “Her family has been unrelenting in their pursuit of justice. After so much agony, their four-year ordeal can now come to an end."

Yeah, totally unnecessary gushing over this, as opposed to just solemnly stating the facts and then a touch of dickish editorializing.

Ooh, a psychosexual angle on the Knox story. Very innovative.

Wow, I didn't think The Stranger could suck any worse than it did around the whole tunnel thing. I was wrong.

Gee -- and why did he have to add that bit of anti-Italian racism, given Seattle's long history of violence and prejudice against us?

Nice going, Dow, stirring up the crowd with hatred for your own political gain.

Typical Democrat.

GFY, Bailo - this 1/4 Italian-American doesn't feel the least bit threatened and/or discriminated against by Constantine's statement, and is glad to see that justice was served.

@5 I wish you'd spend 4 years in Perugia with no internet access.
