A Rainier Beach High School student was attacked by four men and knocked unconscious last Tuesday near the school's football field after practice, according to a Seattle police report.

But it may have been a case of mistaken identity.

According to the victim's statement, he had left the locker room that evening when a man "with long, curly hair" approached him. "You better get my fuckin' brother's name out of your mouth," the man (or maybe a student—the report is unclear) told the victim, according to the police records. But the student said he did not know his brother. The curly-haired man then allegedly "punched him twice in the head," at which point the student got away and had reached the fence of the football field. At that point, three other men reportedly "jumped him" from behind, and they allegedly punched him in the face until he fell to the ground. Then "one of the males stomped on his head causing him to lose consciousness."

A football coach stepped in, the student stirred quickly, and he walked home having suffered "contusions to the head and face." Thankfully, his mother called the police and the student was taken to the hospital.

There's no indication that the victim knew any of these men. Seattle police are investigating the case.
