Economy The Poorest Kids in America

More Hispanic children are living in poverty than those of any other race or ethnicity, marking the first time in U.S. history that the largest group of poor children is not white, according to a new research study.

In a report released Thursday, the Pew Hispanic Center said 6.1 million Hispanic children are poor, compared with 5 million non-Hispanic white children and 4.4 million black children.

Still, blacks make up only 12 percent of the population and yet supply nearly 30 percent of the country's poorest children.

I always thought white people took it for granted that MOST POOR PEOPLE ARE WHITE (hello, what does "minority" mean, right?) but now society is shaping into the bigots' preconception.

Hey, here's an easy solution: stop having so many fucking kids! people would be amazed by how much having 1 or 2 kids per family versus 5 or 6 would change their financial situation.

Okay, let me get this straight, there are a lot of poor Mexican kids ... but instead we're going to just whine about the black ones ... not to mention completely ignore all the other races .... like Jew, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Native American .... everyone else? Nice pigeonholing there, if only life could be as simple as black and white, it's be so much easier to hate someone, now wouldn't it?
