The Awl:

William Morrow/HarperCollins has pulled Neal Stephenson's brand-new book, Reamde, off Amazon after, one would guess, getting tired of hearing about just how many errors there are in the e-book production.

Apparently, the book was plagued with random dashes throughout, which just about any Calibre user will recognize as a common problem with transferring e-books from one format to another. It's weird that publishers haven't developed some sort of an e-proofreading job to solve this kind of problem. (Reamde, by the way, is a very good thriller and you should read it, even if you have to read—gasp!—a print edition.)
