Last week it was a Strategies 360 poll that put McKenna up in the governor's race, 46-39.

This week it's a KING 5/SurveyUSA poll that finds McKenna still up, this time 44-38.

The problem for Inslee?

McKenna is not only walloping him in Eastern Washington (59 to 25), which is expected, but he's also polling dead even with Inslee in King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties, where both candidates are getting 41 percent support.

If Inslee is to have any hope of winning, his campaign needs to start shredding McKenna in those three Western Washington counties, which hold the overwhelming majority of votes in this state.
