I heard about Our Impending Doom on the radio at the top of the hour, and simply RUSHED to Slog to find out what to do. I think Mr. Vel-DuRay and I will sit out on the lanai with a bottle of Chardonnay and the dogs. If it's coming for one of us, it's coming for all of us!!!!

But, speaking as a survivor of the Spacelab crash, I really think we'll be fine. If not, call the Olympic, and shame them into having a nice cocktail reception for us. Cash bar - there's no reason they should absorb the cost of your hard-drinking grief.

It might be kryptonite. Whoever gets it should hang on to it in case Superman arrives and turns evil.

It is such a nice, warm, and clear night for it to pass right over us and I still missed seeing it. I was out looking but missed it. Probably because of tree line or something.

There's a flaming robot in my back yard. Should I be worried?

@5, It's called a Cyberman...throw gold at it.

And I will go ahead and take care of the space junk. So they called it a falling satellite huh? Well, better than calling it what it really is.

ALONSY!!!!!

Well. That's a bit of a shocker. NASA and the AF Joint Space Command have no idea where the satellite reentered? Or even when?

So much for Star Wars and the other anti-ballistic missile systems...

I assume everyone's had a chance to read the news by now. Yes, it came down. They know when, and they know where (mostly in the Pacific). As far as I know, nobody was hurt, much less killed.
