Andrew Breitbart's Dangerous Insanity: The Video

Posted by on Mon, Sep 19, 2011 at 10:58 AM

Towleroad posted this video over the weekend, and it shouldn't just disappear into the webby ether: far-right-wing pundit Andrew Breitbart, speaking at Tea Party event in Lexington, MA on September 16, 2011, and dreaming of civil war.

As Towleroad's Penn Bullock writes, "On the face of it, Breitbart's admission demands a congressional or criminal investigation. If he's implying that military officials have pledged their armed support to him and the right-wing, those officials are guilty of treason. If Breitbart is lying, he's diagnosable."

Yeah... You're really stretching here. He’s basically just saying bring it on to the “Take these sons of bitches out” guys . Unlike the “Take these sons of bitches out”, he’s not suggesting a “first strike”.

As to the “Military” references, I don’t think he’s implying that he has commanders pledging to lead their troops into battle. He’s saying that for every union thug with a brick, his got an army thug with a gun.

Just as Beck went mad with power, Breitbart will also go mad with power.

Maybe he can keep his websites afloat by selling survival gear, canned food and gold?

Hardly. For dangerous insanity, you only need to look at Goldy's lust for killing Republicans.

@5, So, I take it you're a supporter of eternal life for all Republicans. Is that only for Republicans, or do you wish death on all Democrats?

"We outnumber them in this country, and we have the guns."

"They are the bullies on the playground."

The psychology only makes sense if you include the sense of victimization along with the threats of violence. Breitbart has helpfully added the "playground" context to his remarks, so the careful reader can get a better sense of when these feelings of persecution began for him and how long they have persisted.

@6: You have to read between the lines. The mortality/imortality angle was just to PC'ize his hateful venom.

@7 Actually, he is imagining the retaliation if “they” were to “Fire the first shoot” and “walk over that line”, and observing the fact that if “they” did, “we” got the guns, “they” got Janeane Garofalo. (Basically that “they” would be bringing a knife to a gun fight, and that “they” know it.)

Is it surprising to you that someone with a sense of victimization thinks about retaliation?

Lots of people display damage from perceived victimization… “I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASISVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER’S RACE”. – Barack Obama, Dreams Of My Father

It’s kind of part of the human condition. Isn’t it?

It's not exactly a secret that the military brass is full of Christian Dominionists who see it as their role to protect the U.S.'s status as a Christian nation. See: http://www.npr.org/templates/transcript/…

If it came to a choice between defending their country and supporting their political party, I don't consider it a given which side the military would choose.

After reading the article I just have to suggest to every liberal out there: BUY A GOD DAMN GUN AND AMMO!!! Seriously gang, these fucking right-wing assholes are INSANE.

I know gun ownership has been painted as bad but Breitbart is right: his side IS armed to the teeth and are, how shall we say, delusional on their best days.

Newsflash: Brietbart is a retard. Anyone who talks about liberal media personalities like they're the fucking Spartacus League is a grade-A lobotomy case.

Childish bravado. He's obviously a pathological liar. What's galling is that MSM shows his videos and interviews him as though he isn't completely compromised by his bias. The video completely discredits him as an sort of journalist.

The boast of a coward. Has Breitbart ever been in a firefight? Yeah, I thought not.

@9 and @11:

Not just a "misquote" - actually a comment by someone else interpreting the meaning of the book! Unbelievable.

One of his supporters should donate a comb to this creep. Did he just roll out of bed? He looks all sweaty and disheveled.

And plenty of liberals have guns, Andrew. We may not parade around with them or salivate over them like the right, but don't worry....we have them.

Sweet pea, if you actually think we have no guns in our house, you're welcome to try to come in. Please bring your guns with you so we have a few more to add to the stockpile.

Seriously, this neocons (and those faux crats who are also neocons) are all a bunch of draft-dodging spineless candy butts.

I'd break his neck with one punch, already....

You know, something else struck me in the middle of all that. He talks about union guys going to picket or whatever at executives' houses, how this is bad and how the MSM doesn't cover it. (This would be an interesting discussion on its own.) He then talks about how his side doesn't go picket Katie Couric's house and frighten her teenage kids.

1) Disconnect--Couric isn't your enemy. Go picket Michael Moore or George Soros or someone who is actively opposing you, not a member of the MSM who, almost by definition, likes the status quo.

2) How does he know Couric has teenage kids? That's kind of creepy.

When you know at the core, your viewpoint is wrong, there's no other recourse than "we've got the guns". That's where violence comes from in humans. "If I can't make you wrong...I'll just kill you off" . Worked for Hitler, Saddam, Ghadaffi...for a while. Why was Mussolini's head on a stick celebrated? His Breitbart-style attitude reached the inolerable limit. There's no left wing revolt planned, only the right pushing the limit until they get one. And btw, Breitbart is no Mussolini, he's a Fox cartoon.
