Mark Your Calendars: Japanese and Nordic Fashion

Posted by on Thu, Sep 15, 2011 at 3:08 PM

Nordic. Fashion. City.
  • Nordic. Fashion. City.
1. There's this famous Japanese design school called Bunka Gakuen. Every year, its students tour the US with an elaborate, highly choreographed fashion show in which the models perform to Japanese pop and generally rock worlds, from what I hear.

This year it's at SCCC's Broadway Performance Hall, September 25 at 1 pm and again at 3 pm. AND IT IS FREE but you need to get tickets because seating is limited.

2. A six-week Nordic fashion SITUATION is taking place at Seattle's Nordic Heritage Museum, kicking off with a two-day summit September 30 and continuing with a Nordic Fashion Biennale exhibition—and this is the first time this biennale has been held in the US.
